How simple is the scanning?
Our scanning software allows you to scan books very quickly and efficiently. You can expect to scan about 1 book per 2-3 seconds. This allows employee/volunteers to scan many books in a very short period of time. We find that many times, employees/volunteers absolutely love and enjoy the scanning process!
How do the payouts work?
We payout once per month. On the 15th of every month, we payout your portion of the profits for all the books that sold in the previous month. For example on September 15th, you will get paid your share of the profits for all the books that sold in the month of August.
How do we know what books have been sold?
In addition to the payments made on the 15th of every month, you will also receive two reports from us that will help quantify our consignment deal. The first report is in summary form and the second is a per book breakdown, where you will see the title, sale price and the profit for every book sold. Transparency is key is our business!
What are some average expectations for our library or other establishment?
On average, we can expect to sell around 30% of our total inventory per month (1% per day). Therefore, if you have 1000 books in our inventory, you can expect to sell around 300 books per month. On average, when we sell a book on consignment for a client, it sells for $25. We simply deduct the expenses (Amazon and shipping fees) then we take the net profit and split it 50/50 between us and the client! So if a book sells for $25, you can expect to profit anywhere from $4-$6 per book. The amazon and shipping fees are weight based so there is no exact calculation.

Why don’t we just open an Amazon account and sell the books ourselves?
You can! Our model is designed to take the hassle of the process away from you. They’re four phases of the business: Sourcing, Listing, Selling, Managing. By partnering with us, you are outsourcing 3/4 parts of the business!
If we partner with you, we are afraid that it will take books away from the community at our local sale.
We are only interested in about 3-5% of all your total donations and discards. We are simply trying to optimize and sell the most profitable inventory so you do not sell a $40 book for $1. Also, we are finding that many libraries are making similar to what they have always made from their book sales, as our program is designed to just be an extra income stream for the library.
How much can we expect to make?
That number varies as it depends on the amount of donations and discards each library has. Our experience is that we can help a library make anywhere from an extra $200-$2000/month.
